Structure: As-cast.
Metallographic description: Dendritic, heavily corroded. There is not much structure visible in the dendrites, though at high magnification coring can be seen. What may be lead particles are numerous, although the elemental analysis shows only 0.8% lead. Notable are round areas filled with gray corrosion product that shows distinct grain boundaries inside them; they look like the remnants of corroded redeposited copper.
BCES 0480/1367<br>Blade length=5.9 cm. Maximum blade width=2.5 cm. Blade thickness=0.3 cm. One side is flat and the other side is convex especially at the pointed end. There is a projection or extension at the pointed end about 1 cm long and 0.2 x 0.3 cm in cross section, so that the object could have been used as a drill.
