How Mounted: 2 pieces:one cross-section, one lengthwise in same mount.
Structure: Hot-worked and quenched.
Metallographic description: Beta-tin martensitic wire. The needles are not dense, but definitely present. The grains of alpha are unidirectional in the longitudinal piece, scattered in the transverse sample. The matrix has many fine grain and subgrain boundaries visible at 600x.
