Hot-worked and quenched.

Metallographic Description

A beta-tin martensite. A very fine structure: the alpha are small and the needles hard to resolve. There is a mosaic pattern of uneven grains across the sample. A dark, somewhat feathery (Sn-rich?) phase outlines both the alpha and the grain boundaries.
