Structure:
Metallographic description: Banded ferrite, with some tendency towards spheroidization of the small amount of pearlite. Grains are large in the pure ferrite areas, small in the areas of inclusions. Some slag is flattened. This specimen was very slowly cooled. At high magnification one can see what may be tiny bits of carbide or nitrite inclusions.

Outside diameter of socket at base=2.8 cm (over heavy corrosion). Inside diameter of socket=1.9 cm. Wall thickness is about 8 mm, fairly constant along length.
