Structure: Hot-worked and quenched.
Metallographic description: The specimen is completely corroded over three-quarters of its length. What metal remains is clearly of a beta-tin martensitic structure. It is full of needles, but the alpha is not unidirectional, arguing there was little working after casting. There are no distinguishable grains in the matrix.
