Metallographic Description

This hook-shaped fragment of wire is heavily corroded. The structure is one of fine grains with numerous twins. Intergranular cracking extending from the surface is common. The numerous blue-gray inclusions are all flattened along the length of the specimen, showing fairly extensive working. A few annealing twins are bent. Working, annealing; cycle may have been repeated several times.
