Metallographic Description

Elongated areas of alpha float unidirectionally in a dark gray matrix. There are no martensitic needles, implying that the matrix is a quenched gamma phase, rather than beta. No grain boundaries are visible in the matrix, just dark blobs that may be inclusions.
