Metallographic Description

This may be a cross-section of a double-banded bangle, one cast in an hourglass cross-section. The indentation between the two "bulbs" of the hourglass are regular, and the specimen shows evidence, in the form of corrosion-etched strain marks, of working all along the outer edge of the hourglass. There are many cracks and porosity, and a few tiny eutectoid remnants amid the dendrites and strain lines.
