Description
:
Spout, rim (tapered), and body fragment, > ½ present. Exterior is light to medium gray; interior is triple lagged. The first layer of lagging (which is the layer adhering to the crucible surface) is an off white with an underlying red-brown coloration. The middle layer is similar to the first. Both of these layers are not more than 1 mm thick. The top layer is buff color and ranges in thickness from 1–2 mm. The paste has quartz grains with distinct signatures that also appear in very small sizes in the lagging, suggesting washing and sieving the clay. Abundant rice chaff temper.
